Ali Salami, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Tehran and an established literary scholar. His research and publications address gender and discourse, drama, Shakespeare, postcolonial literature, and African and Arab literary traditions. He has produced acclaimed translations of classical Persian poets including Hafez, Rumi, Attar, Ferdowsi, and Khayyam into English, and he has led an unprecedented project to translate the collected works of Shakespeare into Persian in collaboration with the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington. His books have collectively sold over one million copies. He is the editor of Research in Contemporary World Literature, published by the University of Tehran.
